Recommended practices are the documents prepared by a professional group, committee, or company based upon good engineering practices held in the industry.

Piping Codes do not provide design consideration for standard fittings or components such as elbows, tees, flanges, valves, olets fittings, etc.ĪSME B16.9, ASME B16.10 ASME B16.5, etc. Piping codes provide design rules for non-standard fittings like miter bend and also for the reinforcement pad of stud-in or stub-on piping branch connections.
